Eggplant chopsticks with sweet and sour sauce
Ingredients
🌿🍆🍯 Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside due to the texture of the eggplant, prepare these Eggplant Chopsticks in Sweet and Sour Sauce as a snack. (18 pcs): + One large eggplant + A cup of white flour + Half a cup of light beer + A tablespoon of TERANA fine herbs + Vegetable oil + A cup of chicken broth + Half a cup of ketchup + Half a cup of soy sauce + Two tablespoons of honey + A tablespoon of cornstarch + Salt and TERANA ground black pepper.
Preparation
1. Start by cleaning and cutting the ends of the eggplant. Then, divide them in half and peel them on both sides. Once peeled, cut them into strips approximately one centimeter thick. Then, place them in a refractory and season them with TERANA fine herbs, salt and pepper. Ready, we reserve!
2. In a bowl, mix white flour and beer, beating until you obtain a mixture without lumps. Let it rest for about 20 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the sweet and sour sauce by heating chicken broth in a pot and adding ketchup and soy sauce. Before it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to minimum and add honey. Dissolve cornstarch in a little water and pour it into the sauce. Continue stirring the pot until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and reserve to serve.
3. Now, heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or pan. Dip the eggplant toothpicks in the flour and beer mixture and place them in the hot oil. Leave it until they are golden and slightly crispy.
