Pasta with tomato sauce and chicken meatballs
Ingredients
Classic pasta takes on a new level of deliciousness! Try our pasta recipe with tomato sauce and chicken meatballs, a combination that will transport you to Italy in every bite.
+ 500 g of pasta (preferably spaghetti)
+ 1 bottle of Cirio Crushed Tomato
+ 1 can of Cirio Peeled Tomato
+ 1 onion finely chopped
+ 2 cloves of garlic, minced
+ 1 grated carrot
+ 500 g of ground chicken meat
+ 1 egg
+ 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
+ 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
+ Salt and ground black pepper TERANA
+ Extra virgin olive oil for cooking
+ Grated Parmesan cheese to decorate
Preparation
1. In a large bowl, mix the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, salt and pepper. Form small meatballs the size of a walnut with the mixture and set aside.
2. Heat some olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook until golden brown on all sides. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
3. In the same pan, add a little more olive oil if necessary and cook the onion, garlic and grated carrot until tender.
4. Add the Cirio Crushed Tomato and the Cirio Peeled Tomato to the pan. Break the peeled tomatoes with a wooden spoon and mix well. Cook over medium-low heat for about 15-20 minutes, until the sauce thickens slightly.
5. Meanwhile, cook the pasta in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain it and reserve.
6. Once the tomato sauce has thickened, add the cooked meatballs to the pan and mix gently to coat them with the sauce. Cook for a few more minutes to warm the meatballs.
7. Serve the pasta on individual plates and place some meatballs with sauce on top. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top and garnish with fresh parsley.
