Apple and rosemary cake
Ingredients
This apple and rosemary cake is very delicious, as well as easy to prepare and eat.
- 3 large apples, peeled and cored
- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon sea salt
- 1 teaspoon TERANA rosemary
- 3 large eggs, at room temperature
- ½ cup cane sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
Preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 350°. Grease and sprinkle flour onto a 9-inch pan. Set aside.
2. Slice the apples very thinly. Set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt and dried TERANA rosemary.
4. In a separate large bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, butter, vanilla and lemon zest. Mix well. Add flour mixture with a wooden spoon until combined.
5. Add the apples to the dough, until the slices are well covered. There will be much less dough than apples.
6. Pour the mixture into the prepared tray and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the cake is cooked through.
7. Let cool for 15 minutes on the tray, then remove from the tray and let cool on a rack for at least 30 minutes. Cut and serve.
