Grilled pineapple with TERANA spices and vanilla ice cream

- 1 ripe natural pineapple - 2 tablespoons brown sugar (or to taste) - 1 tablespoon butter - 1 or 2 Terana star anise seeds - 1 pinch ground Terana cinnamon - Optional: 30 g dark rum - Vanilla ice cream to accompany

1. Peel the pineapple, remove the crown and core. Cut the pineapple into slices approximately 1.5 cm thick and remove the hard core.
2. In a nonstick pan over low heat, melt the butter with the TERANA star anise. This will release its full aroma.
3. When the butter is melted, add the pineapple slices. Turn them over to coat them well.
4. Sprinkle the TERANA ground cinnamon and brown sugar over the pineapple. Continue turning the slices occasionally.
5. Just before the sugar begins to caramelize completely, if using, add the rum. Let it cook, turning the pineapple, until it is tender, but not too soft, and the liqueur has evaporated. A delicious caramel will form at the bottom of the pan.
6. Remove from heat and serve the grilled pineapple hot, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The contrast in temperatures is sublime!
